How good do those pastries up there look?!
How many minutes of exercise do you think you would need to do to burn off the calories from just one of those cinnamon goodies?
It’s probably something along the lines of 1 billion burpees or 3 trillion squat jumps, but you know what?
We’ve all seen these features in magazines haven’t we? The comparisons between the calories in a doughnut v’s the number of minutes we’d need to spend on a treadmill to burn it off.
Now apart from the fact I’d rather die than spend any time on a treadmill full stop, exercise is not a punishment. You don’t have to “earn” your food.
Exercise because it makes you feel good.
Exercise because you like the way it makes you look.
Exercise because it keeps your healthy.
Exercise because it makes you strong.
Exercise because you enjoy it.
Exercise because it keeps you fit.
Exercise as a stress reliever.
Do NOT exercise because you feel guilty.
Do NOT exercise because you need to earn your food.
Do NOT exercise because you enjoyed a pastry for breakfast.
Do NOT exercise because you ate “too much” last night.
Remember, it’s not about one meal. It’s about what you do 365 days a year.
Eat well, fuel your body correctly so it can run at the highest level possible, keep fit and healthy through exercise and enjoy treats along the way.
I’ll definitely be enjoying some “treats” and a few drinks this weekend, and I won’t be killing myself in the gym to “earn it” or rushing out to try and undo the damage afterwards that’s for sure.
