This is probably my best transformation to date. April 2016-June 2016. I’d lost 9 kilos and inches from everywhere.
Aesthetically, I was in my best condition ever. I posted this picture on social media and was so damn proud of what I’d achieved.
However, I felt like SH*T.
I was tired.
Like, super tired.
I couldn’t sleep properly.
I ached all over.
I couldn’t motivate myself to train.
I forced myself to train and to train HARD.
I couldn’t recover from training properly.
I used coffee as a pick me up multiple times a day.
I was super irritable and grouchy.
Today. I’m back to being ME.
For this, I have good friend, nutritionist, functional medicine practitioner and total LEGEND Steve Grant to thank. I reached out to him in July when I knew I couldn’t go on feeling as rubbish as I did on a daily basis.
He listened to my issues without judging, arranged the appropriate tests, switched up my nutrition, cut my training down and gave me a supplementation protocol to follow each day.
I had my blood tested again at he beginning of this month and the results were all super positive. I have my energy back, I sleep well, I wake up feeling rested, I’m back to training and I’m generally a nicer human to be around than I was back in the summer.
Why am I telling you all this?
To big up Steve for one (as he’s a hero!) but also to show that what’s posted on social media isn’t always the whole truth, it’s only part of the story…The part full of sunshine and rainbows and filters.
Remember that next time you’re scrolling though Facebook thinking everyone is skinnier than you, having more fun than you, prettier than you, has more money than you etc…
You may only be getting half a story and it’s been filtered to the max!
